Ok, imagine this were you for a moment...
You're in a job you love, everythings going great and then you find out your job is now at risk of redundancy. There are around 60 of you now re-applying for 31 roles in the new structure that has been proposed.
You've seen the job descriptions and the only ones which you have experience are nothing like the current responsibilities you have and it therefore looks as though the work you'd be doing if you applied and got offered, would be fairly standard/boring.
Given that you have nowhere else to go, do you:
a) apply for the jobs anyway and sit tight in hope you get it.
b) apply for the jobs but look elsewhere especially if you don't feel confident about it.
c) don't bother, apply elsewhere if you don't think you'll enjoy it.

Life is a bugger. Remember the only people six feet under have no problems or decisions to make so at least you know you are alive. What dio you do anyway? Your profile is almost none existent.
Decide whether to follow your heart or head.
The former can mean freedom, excitement, the "Wow" factor and then you'll have to use your head to succeed.
or follow your head and maybe you'll not be able to put your heart in it.
Take the right choice and good luck.

Someone helped me with something this weekend and they told me to stop ignoring my gut instinct because when I ignore it, that's when things go wrong! So thanks, you reminded me to do that!
I work as a Marketing Executive for a global law firm. One that the chief exec earns a crazy 1.7m annually from... lol

Thanks for that piece of inspiration Mike! She's done really well to get to where she is. I'm kind of kicking myself for having not done something like that myself, sooner!
I really keen to just go ahead and start up but as I'll explain when I call there are a few things holding me back - but I think there is a way around it that would a) build an experience portfolio and b) build trust for those who wish to use the service.
I finish work around 5.05, can I call you then? Or if you won't be available, I could call before work tomorrow, say about 8am - 8:30am? xxx

Call anytime. If I don't reply leave a short message and contact number. I'm hoping I'll have to run to catch up with you in a few short months.
This could be the big one for you.

My situation 18 months ago. Had been at the same company for 14 years - moved around various jobs within the company and really disliked the job and most of the people around me. The company then gave me a choice - take a redundancy package or take a position on a years contract working with a team of three other people (all of whom i hated!) on a project that was more boring that watching paint dry....
I followed my instincts, took the money and ran... A day after my decision they put me on gardening leave and that was that....

Definitely best to follow your own instincts and I know if I don't I'll really regret it. Time to stop letting things (or people) hold me back! xxx
