Through a contact at 4N i was given the number of UK office managers to help with some sales and telemarketing for my company.
I met with 2 of the directors and paid half of the amount due. That was 5 weeks ago and since then i have heard back from them but still have had no response as to whether they have made any appointments or not. As i have had no sales background does it take 5 weeks to arrange meetings and should they be contacting me as to inform me of what is happening?
I have also heard that they are no longer trading but have conflicting info from them I am CONFUSED.com Any info would be greatfully received Thanks

I have just checked there Company Report, there is no movement such as adiminstration or receiveship.
Being a telesales person five weeks is a long time for any appointments, ask for your money back.

I had a lucky escape from them-just in the nick of time! long story! I can also confirm that 5 weeks is a rediculous amount of time to wait for any news on your telemarketing campaign. They should be giving you daily and weekly feedback and reports showing all call activity. Sorry this has happened to you.

Has anyone had any experience of small claims court, how much it costs and is it worth while.
I have had some legal advice form the FSB and i have 3 options, move on from the issue and lose my money, small claims or ask for my money back and see what happens.
I have emails from them saying that the campaign was completed on the 29th october with a good response that was 4 weeks ago and no meetings or anything.

The small claims court is not expensive, and nor is it particularly difficult to use.
However, it cannot make anyone pay you anything. It can tell them to. And they can ignore the court. And its back to you to decide what to do next.
For that reason, I would involve a debt collector like Steve White.
However, a firm letter requesting a refund in full by a stated date would do no harm, assuming that your phone calls are not getting taken. And, if possible distance wise, a visit to have a nose around.

They should have recorded their progress. I use Neon Flare for my campaigns and Jessica keeps me updated with spreadsheets showing all the calls that have been made and the outcome, both positive and negative, along with any feedback from the call. If they finished the campaign on the 29th they should long ago (or even during the campaign) have given you such details.
I'm no expert in these matters but personally, I would give them a time limit - say, 5 days - to send records of your campaign and then make a claim for the money you paid if they can't provide that or do not respond. Making a claim online is easy - I have used the government service Money Claim to claim back bank charges but you can use it for all sorts of claims. You have to pay the fees upfront (the amount is dependent on the the amount you are claiming) but if you win the case the defendant has to pay the fees. As well as the actual cost you're reclaiming you can also make a claim for any reasonable expenses/money lost because of the case, as far as I remember.
The site is here - there's help throughout and I found it very quick and easy to use.
Best wishes,
Alison

Get your money back!
Take the great advise from Alison and set them a deadline to pay it and if they don't then use either the small claims court or a debt collector like Steve. It's the principle of the matter and the fact that they have and probably will keep doing this to others.
Let us know what you decide to do and how you get on...good luck

I would have recommended Steve but wasn't sure if this counts as a debt as such - as it's not non-payment of a bill but non-supply of paid-for services. But it might be worth giving Steve a call anyway!
Best wishes,
Alison
