i left BNI in March/April 2009..and got this the other day!!! they've either not taken my business cards out of the famous 'business card box for members only' or the exclusive amazing only web designer in the world who they will refer to isn't keeping the members list updated properly! fail!

needless to say i replied with an invite to 4N :-D 

can you tell me how this is business related or is helpful in anyway to anybody ?

if not it will be moved to the new BNI Bashing Section with all the other irrelevant posts and frankly childish and insecure stories.

This should be setup so the Business section can be used for helpful business advice and then anybody who has a gripe or comment about BNI can post it there and if anybody is vaguely interested they can read all about it.

I mean who really cares.....honestly (tuts).

Well as far as I see it it's very business relevant as this shows (whoever the organisation maybe) a complete lack of professionalism in updating records and maintaining up-to-date information.

A bit like having dummy copy or the wrong date on your website, for example.

I just did a quick search of the forum using the 4N search feature- 2120 posts (probably more now) of the total 101085 approx relate to BNI, ie a staggering 2.1%!

Even worse, of 365 pages or so on the forum, 142 have a BNI reference. 

There can only be so many ways to say the same thing and still make it interesting...

Seriously........ENOUGH!!  Three threads in the top 5 of this forum all slagging off BNI and none serving any constructive purpose........pointless!! 

Change the record already.........the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different outcome........BNI will continue to exist and attract new members.......get over it!

As a member of both 'networks' who gets just about an equal return form each, I find them both valuable and so promote both of them equally......7 members of the Chapter I'm a member of are now also members of 4N.

However, post after post of BNI slagging by people who have either never been  a member of BNI and so have no clue about what they're talking about OR by people who blame BNI for their inability to conduct basic due dilligence that would've easily identified the rules and policies of BNI that they're now bumping their gums about (that have all been in place for years) makes me seriously think twice about promoting 4N.

Frankly, I would be embarrassed to introduce contacts of mine into an environemnt where sniping and ill-informed posts are rife.

For the sake of 4N and in the interest of sanity........give it a rest already and try focusing on promoting the positives of 4N instead!

Wow! Some people are very uptight about BNI aren't they? 

Can I recommend...

Did I get work from BNI? Yup!

Would I go back? Nope!

Why not? I realised that I spent more time promoting someone's dated franchise model than looking after my own business. Not a good use of my time.

Ironically, despite my category being re-filled over a year ago, I still do work with at least a quarter of people from my old chapter because I spent time getting to know them. When did I do that? During a 4N meeting...

At the end of the day, everyone's entitled to their opinion - there's no point getting worked up about it!

TBH, I'm not uptight about BNI........I'm fed up with pointless posts about BNI........there's a subtle difference.
