I feel i know you, trust you, but have NEVER met you.
Why? Because others i know and trust but have NEVER met reccomend you.

This is a really difficult one for some, but getting people to understand that the 4N forum is NOT about just posting ads for their services or products.
Charmian has, as far as I know, never posted an ad for her mortgage services, but we all know what she does and she has regularly demonstrated her expertise. There is no other private investigator I would use now, but Jorge has never used the forum to advertise. The 4N forum is about the person, not what you do. Let people get to know you and the business will come in.
Also look at the amount of free advice that is given here, What you give out comes back to you and that is enormously true here.

Strangely enough, just recently I have put a couple of things on the classified thread with absolutely no result/response yet I do have enquiries following certain posts.
I think you're spot on, the forum is about the person, not what you do and the more you're involved in threads, the more others learn about you and you learn about them.
You can learn a lot about people if you get involved in discussions/banter on a regular basis.

Tht's very true - I went to the Christmas party knowing, in the real world, maybe three or four people that were there, so most people there were strangers to me, yet because I have "talked" to them so much on the forum I felt like I knew them already. And taking that into the breakfasts, having a 121 with someone I know from the forum can be a lot more effective because we "know" each other already and don't have to go through all the initial introduction stage.
