Have just been working with a friend to launch this new site which I think is really good:

www.gofindmeagift.com

You just type in the the details of the person for whom you are looking for a gift and it tells you what are the most popular gifts for this type of person.

Might be worth trying it out for Christmas ideas when you just don't know what to buy someone.

Cheers

Great idea Nigel,

I like it and will probably use it when I'm at a loss as to what to buy for some difficult people and I don't want to just buy them socks/vouchers/chocs!

I think you should do well!

Nice spin on an old affiliate sheme.

I tried it for my 2 yo but, to be honest, the results were a bit ... babyish for him!
I'd say they were more suited for a 12 - 18 month old.

Other than that I'd say it was a winner.

Hi Nigel, I am interested in what capacity you have been working to launch the site as it doesn't appear to be new.

The domain was registered in 2000 and the site is copyright needapresent.com dated 2001.

If your interest is with the products, needapresent.com is well established and has a great range of gifts. If it's technical aspects of the website ... it needs a bit of attention, otherwise, if this post is really just an attempt to drive traffic to the site you really should have posted it in classifieds.

Hi Nigel. Nice looking site. I would prefer to see a few more options for interests though, At the moment it's a bit limited. Regards, Mike

Good site, like it. However I personally would like slightly bigger 'next' buttons at the bottom when searching through the pages......

Sorry Lee - I read them more as feedback comments rather than questions, but here goes

Regarding approriate matches for certain individuals - gift ideas are manually input and criteria selected according to what either the product and/or the data inputter suggests is right.  Hence there are times when the suggestions are not 100% correct.  I have also noticed that gifts that I believe are suitable for a certain age group are often included in a broader range than I personally would have chosen, but when you consider how dirfferent everyone is and what their own perceptions are, then I have to accept that everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

Regarding Karen's points, I believe she may be refering to another site with a very similar name which may have been going for longer.

And 'yes', of course it would be good to drive traffic to the site, but I also believe that it is a good site that actually addresses a need and so could be useful to 4ner's in the run up to Christmas.  Nothing's perfect though!

Apologies if I have offended - no offence meant.

Cheers
