Im finding a Blog area enough for the time being but would like some feedback on how the service explanation comes across and if what I do is understandable.
As business owners understanding the importance of sensible safety management please have a read and look around.
Be nice now! . . .Mark.

A blog is a great way of gaining more interest into your business. I would go for something like wordpress though and have it on a sub-domain to my main web site so that the informational linking is more revelant and it will help SEO as well.

Thanks - I had a look at wordpress and looks like its got a good page setup (item placement feature). Dont know if you had a chance to look at www.riskassist.blogspot.com but wondered how the service "sounded" and came across.
Thanks again for ideas

Mark
I going to try and very nicely say I think you should put all your efforts into getting a website as I do not think that the way you are using the concept of a blog is going to generate much business for you at present.
For a blog to work to its full potential you really need to add regular content to it.
I also agree with Matthew and always suggest Wordpress for anyone thinking about blogging as it is effectively easier to maintain and optimise in my own opinion. Again Matthew is spot on with suggesting that it should be used along side a main business website.

Its the whole chickin and egg thing . . . .
I guess the blog is how I can get away with offering services at £25/month and so on. . . Once the Virtual Safety Assistang gets more interest and clients I would of course be looking in to investing client money back and porviding the wow factor AND I KNOW you will say that without the professional Website I wont get the clients. . . .
At present I have Three longer term clients (over 6 months) and for now while I learn the ropes est. the blog seems to be working as far as an online broshure. My main question is becouse Im a safety boffin and work with safety 15hours aday so many days a week is the service Im offering understandable?
I agree with the "Get a site" though and hope to do so soon.

A blog should be looked at as an enhancement to your main website, not the website itself.
As a professional company it doesn't cost much to get a professional 'proper' website designed and built (here it only costs from £14.99 a month) BUT when done right, the impression it gives is worth thousands more than a freebie - whether that's a blog, a mr site website or any of the other thousands of supposedly 'free' websites.
It should also be used to show the human side of the company.
I hate to use a mullet as an example but - "business at the front (the professionally designed and built website), party at the back (the blog/ forum/ facebook/ twatter feed etc)"

OK so I'm now looking in to a better site at least one that can have separate pages, a forum, client areas and handle payments.
Thanks for the advice do you think it matters if the address doesnt end in .co.uk or .com?
