I'm in mahooooosive (that's very large) trouble with Mr Fordham for getting screen burn on one of the plasmas.

Does it go away after a while or do I have to put up with his bottom lip being out all weekend? What can I do to fix it, apart from distraction theories?

Distraction methods Bex is all you can do I think. Better dig out the leather bikini and baby oil.

Or give him a beer.

A trip to Anne Summers and some baby oil is the best solution you can wish for. Like a good marriage.. Screen burn is for life.

I don't think Anne Summers do a leather bikini in a 16-stone-man's size, and Geoff gets a bit moody about the chafing, so I'm not sure that idea is the best.

I've just poured him another beer, hopefully that'll do the trick.

Update.... the marriage is most definitely over. He's just asked for a savoury snack to accompany his beer, which has led to the discovery that I ate a whole tub of caremalised onion hummous with a whole pack of lime doritors for brunch. Ooops.

I'm packing my bags and heading off into the sunset with the dog as we speak...

No, they do, you just have to ask for them. If the chafing is a problem, suggest he pops some talc on before he puts the bikini on.

You cannot reverse the damage done by screen burn. Some say you can but what you are essentially doing is burning in the ENTIRE panel so that the other affected area is no longer prominent.

Sorry ;-(

Paused Sky Plus to make cheese on toast, went and sat out in garden, phone rang, the rest is history.

Seems better today although I can still see the words burnt on to the screen. Geoff seems to have forgiven me, so marriage is intact for the moment! Worst case scenario I can swap it with the one in the bedroom and he'll never notice, it'll be our little secret

We used to be able to do that Jorge, but when the TV man came to put the bedroom telly up he messed around with the setup of the living room telly and the media player turns off when you turn the screen off. Probably just a case of messing around with the wires in the back and it'll be fine.

Yeh, it because of the mechanics of the plasma and LCD. ITs to do with the phosphor-based screen and the uneven wear of phosphors in your display
