Hi all, I'm getting myself one of those roller banners made and just wanted a bit of feedback.  How does the banner below strike you as a possible design?

Thanks in advance!

I'm certainly no banner or marketing expert but I am a breakfast expert, and my honest opinion is that it's too busy. The red and white text looks great, but the black explanatory text could be too much on the eye.

I'm worried that's not constructive enough for you, but hope that a marketing genius will be along in a moment to offer their opinion....

I think too busy too...a few times on the content you say, for example affordable web solutions for small businesses. If you just said affordable web solutions, you could free up some space..

basically....after the word for...leave out the qualification...then it would look more striking.

I am not an expert but in my opinion you are saying too much - cut most of the black wording, perhaps keeping the first 2 lines of each section.

also consider that the stand will often be behind a desk or chair so the bottom portion will not be seen.

Hi Chris,

I've never been a fan of these banners to be honest although I am sure many would disagree. It all depends where you are going to use it. Certainly to my mind that is far too busy. I am a great fan of "white space" advertising. Less is more in many cases.  I would just put Zedoary Computer Solutions and your website address. If you put it up at a 4N meeting then you get the chance to say all the rest in person then people will actually have more chance of remembering the name becuase thats all the banner gives them, and in my view getting people to remember your company name is part of the battle.

Hope that helps,

I agree, you need to fill in the blanks Chris in person.

Just a quick question, Chris.

How DO you pronounce your business name? my guess is "ZA-DOE-A-REE" is that correct?

Echo comments above.  Sometimes less can be more.

In my opinion, it is worth investing in a different banner for each use.  For 4N breakfasts consider how your banner compliments what you say in your 40 second elevated pitch.  If it does this effectively - and you 'introduce' the banner as part of the pitch - then you are effectively elevated for the entire meeting.

A different message might be relevant for a trade show where you want to catch the eye of passers-by, but from as little as £80 a pop if you produce your own artwork then I feel this is money well spent.

KISS - keep it simple stupid. You will always be there I take it where-ever you are putting it up. In my opinion it should high impact, saying who you are and how to find out more info, not providing the info that would come from a brochure, website or a chat with you.

A theory that I used to follow David until I read a report by The Design Council (Website). This was thought to be the case but studies that they had conducted showed that if you have text at the bottom with images forming a space between this footer and the top third then it would not be missed. I have just tried to look for the report from their exhibition design studies but cant find it - it will be on their website I have linked to.
