Anyone else heard of this?  I have a friend who has a garage and is promoting this and willing to refill for free - reckons it saves loadsamoney on your petrol bills.

Dear Denise

I have used nitrogen instead of air on my tyres, they are supposed to give you better fuel consumption as they don't leak as much as air tyres and therefore they keep the pressure at a certain level for longer, keeping fuel consumption down and reduce wear on the tyres.

Hope this is of help.

Regards

Dave

Hi Denise

I had all my tyres deflated and filled with nitrogen last time I had one replaced. There's definitely been an improvement in fuel consumption since so it could be due to that. It doesn't do any harm anyway! Also, you can top up with air as tyres lose pressure if you wish - no need to purchase a cylinder of nitrogen to do it!

Intrigued by the combination of marketing and singing by the way.

my understanding is that compressed air is about 70% nitrogen anyway?

Thanks for the feedback guys, not knowing much about vehicles/engines, needed the advice.  His place is not far from mine so free nitrogen top ups would be great, especially if I can gain those extra miles - should come in hand for my WILLS ON WHEELS business.

The "singing" marketing by the way Paul is because I wrote a song to market my business and having sung it once at a networking breakfast, got asked to sing it again (so got everyone to join in chorus) and got asked to do it again on tuesday, I wonder if I'll be asked to do it again tomorrow at the launch of Newport?   They'll all get fed up of it pretty quick I suspect, then I'll have to write another!!!  lol
