I got a Canon EOS 350d and want a new lense for it, one that will allow me to zoom right in from say 20 foot. Ie; within breakfast meets.
What am i looking for and how much should i expect to pay?

for shooting long (as in from the back of a room over people heads to the front) a 70-200 or the like would be needed. if you room is nice and bright you can get away without flashing which is a good move but in the unlikely event that you cant get a frame without flash, try and bounce the flash from a nearby wall or ceiling to avoid harse flash. a nonprime lens is about £80-£200 to do a good job (a prime would be £1100) which you could also use to pap grandad at xmas when hes asleep infront of doctor who
hope this helps, if it doesnt, get in touch
