I live in a beautiful part of rural North Devon on the family farm and am married to Richard with 3 children aged 16, 13 and 8.
I started life after school training as a Travel Agent and after 4 years decided I needed a change. I went to work in the offices of a local company and worked in various sections including the sales and credit control offices. In 1994 I took a career break to have my first daughter and when she was 2 I went part-time into a local computer company (which no longer exists!!) as their accounts/admin person.
I then took another break for my next child and was completely out of the workplace for sometime, to keep me busy I took my GCSE in Accounting,2 City & Guilds computer courses and an Open University course about the rise of the Internet.
After a while (and another child!) I was offered a part-time place helping out out the local pre-school which I did for about 2 years and gained my Level 1 Introduction to pre-school practice before leaving to start Convallis Software with Richard.
My main role within Convallis Software is as a first point of contact. I run the administration side of the business as well as getting out and about on the networking circuit building relationships with and getting to know other business people and their companies.
Richard has many years experience in IT working for over 8 years at a local software development company before we decided to 'go it alone'. Richard is also Microsoft Certified Professional having gained his MCTS in SQL Server 2005.
