After spending my formative years in Spain and Ecuador and doing my first degree in the USA, I landed back in Spain. The best was still to come: meeting a lovely English rose was reason enough to leave all and come to live in the UK in 1992.
Since then, I made my home in Blighty, the lovely English rose is now my wife and mother of our three children, and my perambulation in the working world has included stints in tutoring, charity administration, customer services, export and publishing. No surprise, then, that finding my niche as a translator was very welcome on several counts:
a) work from home (yes, it is possible!) that allows me to see my children
b) puts to use my varied experience of living, studing and working in four countries.
c) focuses on making meaningful contact across language and culture.
My hobbies include reading (in both English and Spanish), meeting folk with an international outlook (amazing how many of them live in Cambridge!), writing the occasional short story (mainly for my kids). |
