Effective marketing needs GREAT copywriting…

A bold statement maybe, but one we’re happy to stand by. Let’s take your website for instance. Anyone landing on your home page will decide within a few seconds whether they are prepared to read more. We’re here to ensure your potential customers or clients STAY on your site, happy that their search is over. Our aim is to give your business a distinctive voice by using great website copy, produced by experienced copywriters. You may decide you would like to take a formal approach, or maybe you need to be showing your “human” side from the off. Whatever your requirements we’re here to put them into action.

What People Say

  • After my website review, I mulled things over and then decided to give the job of writing new copy to Paul. He completed the work on time and on budget - I am amazed, I am in the process of updating my website and blogsite so you can see the kind of magic he weaves. Paul is brilliant.
    Denise Meredith, Sponsalis
  • What Can I say? Took my jumble of words and made them work, gave them a meaning that made sense. Great guy and he will be doing more for me....
Gareth Gillman, Gareth Gillman Web Design
  • Having spent 2 hours with Paul Dean this morning I would encourage as many people as possible to speak to him. He has a wealth of knowledge and some fantastic business ideas.
    Phil Clarkeson, Interactive Training Solutions
  • Paul recently carried out a review of our website as part of the redesign process and I found the process to be simple and straightforward. The suggestions and comments he came back with were honest, fair and all backed by sound reasoning. Having someone independent of the business review our site was invaluable, as it can be easy to become attached to what we had in place. We’ll definitely be taking on board Paul’s feedback and look forward to working with him in the future.

Copywriting means what, exactly?

Over the years we've been called upon to deliver a number of writing projects for clients. The communication of an important message takes time and planning in order to be error free, clear and concise.

Here at Crimson Leaf we will be pleased to help you with any of the following copywriting services:

  • Website rewrites
  • Website critiques
  • Business letters
  • Blogs
  • Newsletters
  • Press releases
  • Editorials
  • Leaflets and flyers
  • Sales letters
  • Brochures
  • Advertorials
  • Strap lines and slogans
  • Articles and features
  • Wedding speeches

A good copywriter will bring people to your website. Badly written copy will certainly drive them away.

Do you run a BLOG?

The word “Blog” is shorthand for “Web Log”, a journal of news or activities open to the World Wide Web.

Although there is already a growing tide of personal bloggers, only recently have businesses seen the advantages of blogging news relating to their products, services or company changes. Blogging is YOUR way of keeping in touch with clients on a semi-formal basis. If you run a Twitter account then you should be Tweeting your blog regularly, and ensuring a stream of new information reaches your followers.

For some, creating a blog post is an onerous duty. We’ll take the load from you and write bespoke blog posts (whatever your business) and will even upload them for you. If your website doesn’t currently have a blogging facility then we’ll build one for you. If you currently don’t interact with your existing and prospective clients through Twitter, then we can also run a bespoke copywriting and marketing campaign for you too.

Marketing on a Budget?

Marketing is often seen as an expense, whereas it is truly an investment. Many businesses, particularly smaller ones, will neglect their marketing in favour of just looking for clients. What's the difference? Marketing allows the clients to look for you!

You will teach us about your expectations, and we will work with you to achieve them. The basics are simple but often overlooked, so we will help with both action plans and business plans. We'll also examine your "Route to Market" and lead you along it.

We'll also show you where to get FREE business software and market yourself for FREE too. We'll also hold your hand through the whole networking process, which can give you months of exposure to potential clients and business partners for less than the price of a half page advertisement in your local paper.

We won't ask you to sign up to a 6 month programme that will cost you more than you could realistically expect to earn, unlike some of our coaching rivals. You may have an hour's worth of advice whenever you need it and there is no ongoing commitment from you. Our commitment to you is to provide value, and if we do you may continue to use us, or may recommend us to your friends. Simple.

We would expect to get you on the "right track" within a few hours. This will include an initial half hour telephone conversation so we can understand your business before committing you to any additional expenditure. The cost for the "right track" package is just £350. Additional hours are charged at £45.

During our time together we will discuss the following:

  • Sole Trader or Limited Company
  • Where to get financial and other help
  • Identifying your Market
  • Advertising
  • Social Media (Twitter, Facebook and others)
  • Networking
  • Business and Accounting Software
  • Cloud Computing

We can also advise on the ongoing development of your business. This is charged at our normal hourly rate, and will cover:

  • Working ON, and not IN your Business
  • Differentiation and Niche Testing and Measuring
  • Leverage
  • Team Creation and Development
  • Measuring Results
We are based in North Bristol, and work in Bristol, Bath, Chippenham, Cheltenham, Gloucester and North Somerset.

About Crimson Leaf

Hi. I'm Paul Dean and I provide a first class copywriting service to anyone with a message to communicate. I’ll also help you to develop your business through the use of social media and more traditional marketing methods with an eye on your budget, which (let’s be honest) is never going to be as big as you’d like it to be.

With regard to website rewrites and other marketing collateral I pride myself on the levels of research I’ll undertake to get under the skin of your business and the sector in which you work.

Marketing has changed. With the advent and upsurge of social media the old-fashioned method of simply blasting out advertising in the vain hope that people will buy is simply not working. However, the old adage that “people buy people” still holds true. Business is more about personality than it has ever been before, and I specialise in advising on the best way to amplify that personality through social media.
