I am George King, a specialist in commercial management, from building efficient processes for your sales or supplier management teams, to helping you to stay legal in all of your commercial dealings.
Everything I do at Glengyle is guided by the words of Rudyard Kipling: “I keep six honest serving men (they taught me all I knew); their names are What and Why and When and How and Where and Who”. I start by asking you "What is your greatest pain point?" and continue the questions from there, until I can find the best solution to help your business move on.
I will work with you to help you uncover new ways to become more efficient, to win more contracts, to solve any commercial problems you may have.

WHY DO THEY CALL ME MR 5%?
One of my personal drivers is based on a deceptively simple statistic. It is that ‘by the end of the fifth year 95% of business start-ups will cease to exist’. So, from 100 new businesses, only FIVE will still exist after five years.
Until now, no-one seems to be prepared to do anything about it. Governments do nothing to prevent it. The media pay it a passing interest. In any other field a 95% failure rate would be totally unacceptable.
Imagine only FIVE out of 100 children leaving school with their GCSE’s – we’d vote governments out for that kind of result! A salesperson closing only FIVE sales in 100 – they’d be sacked for poor performance! Yet who cares only FIVE businesses in 100 will survive?
Well I care. I’m so passionate about this I even commissioned my own research through Newcastle University, to find out why businesses fail. The results are fascinating, carrying lots of lessons to learn. I’m currently writing a White Paper about it.
