What I Offer…

I will help you understand the challenging thoughts and feelings you will be experiencing during anxious, stressful , traumatic and unhappy times. The thing is we all have 'stuff' going on in our lives. It may seem trivial to someone else's but it also very real to you and should not be swept under the carpet.

My fear is that it is easy to say to yourself that you will be OK, that you will get over it and it is nothing. The problem is that if you really haven't dealt with that 'stuff' then it will grow and fester until one day you will hit rock bottom and it will not just be you that sufferers. Your family and friend will also being suffering along with you.

I help my clients to understand the challenging thoughts, feelings and behaviours they are experiencing so that they can acknowledge them and find a better way to live their life instead of being in fear of the destructivity that has been ignored for so long.
I help my clients bring a brightness back into everyday.

If you would like to find out more about how I might be able to support you then contact me and let's have a conversation to find out the best place to start for you. If you choose to work with me I will be teaching you skills that you can use throughout the whole of your life not just for that situation.

What would life be like for you if you knew you could be feel in control again?

Why I’m good at what I do…

Originally coming from a teaching background, in adult education, that was only a temporary arrangement but spanned over twenty-five years. I realised very quickly that I enjoyed helping others to achieve their best, so much so that after the birth of my first child I soon realised where I needed to concentrate my efforts. It gave me so much more purpose in life than making pots to satisfy someone’s materialistic needs. The last fifteen years I taught in offender learning. This experience thrust me into a very different society that helped me refine my teaching and life coaching skills whilst keeping me very much in touch with the real world. Through sharing of skills and engaging in conversation to support my students to make better pots, paint better pictures, be better parents and be more successful individuals through looking at their life from a different angle.

As a life coach, I can support individuals and groups of people so much more effectively. I can combine my teaching and life coaching skills with a holistic approach, where the education system restricted me.

We all have a story to tell and mine is through my journey of acceptance when my dad became Joan. The combination of my life’s journey and my teaching experiences I chose to take, has helped me to notice individuality a lot more clearly. It has helped me to see that, for some, life is often not as easy as they would like it to be. It can be complicated but at other times we make it more complicated than it needs to be. All these complications can throw us off balance, make us feel weird and want to shout from the tree tops, “All I want is to feel normal!” More recently my coping mechanisms were put to the test when my son had a sports accident and smashed his C3 vertebrae. I had to use all the skills I had learnt from past experiences but also learn new ones. This did not change the outcome for my son but it did change the way I coped personally, and how I coped with all the ups and downs of other relationships from the knock on affect from this. You could say I have had on the job experience.

If this resonates with you then I can support you in finding your feelings of normal again. As a client of mine I will help you to acknowledge and understand your feelings more easily. I will support you in finding your normal so that you can start preparing your actions. I will take you on a journey where you will be able to learn more about effective breathing, mindfulness, gratitude, acceptance, acknowledgement and listening to your inner self through self-honesty. I will bring you to a place where you have a brightness back in everyday.
