We are based in Dunsfold - between Guildford and Horsham and work with companies within a 50 mile radius.
I was brought up in Surrey and went to school in Cranleigh. I then went to university in Newcastle and spent three years not understanding a word anyone said to me.
I started my working life selling advertising space which I hated. I still don't like cold calling. The good aspect was that it pointed me towards marketing and I joined a sales promotion agency. Over the next ten years I worked for a whole range of blue chip clients. My main client was the BAA, who I worked for for over five years. Other clients included Gallahers, RAC, Sealink Ferries, Woolworths etc. After ten years I decided to jump the fence to the client side and I joined Somerfield. I ran a grocery store for a couple of years. It was really tough environment but as they say great experience. It gave me the experience to move into a retail marketing job and I joined Lloyds Pharmacy as Marketing Manager. The only problem was that they then relocated to the Midlands so I moved to what is now Alliance Boots, initially as Marketing Manager and latterly as Head of Marketing. After seven years there I decided in 2005 to set up my own business and so Business Development Advisors was born. I now get my kicks out of growing the turnover and profit of SMEs .
