Why I’m good at what I do…

It would be fair to say that coaching has been in my blood from an early age.  I can recall, as an eight-year-old, a grown up relative confiding in me, as he knew he could not only put his trust in me, but that I was also someone who he could express himself to.  It was then that I realised I had a skill and a passionate interest in helping others.  People would gravitate to me, tell me their issues, not only small issues, but large issues such as sexual abuse and personal relationships. I found that by helping others, I also began to help myself as I was growing up and dealing with my own insecurities.

After leaving school I trained as a secretary and had a career, spanning over 27 years, working in the corporate world of investment banking and asset management, supporting senior board members.  Again, colleagues would come to me to discuss their personal and confidential work issues.  I decided that I loved listening to them and offering my support more than I did my job as an executive assistant, and chose to pursue my life’s purpose.  I’ve now been working as a life coach for just over 2 years, specialising as a confidence and empowerment coach.  I have a recognised diploma in Personal Performance Coaching, which I was awarded a distinction.

My life experiences led me to coaching; I pride myself on being compassionate and have a natural gift for being in tune with people’s feelings and emotions.  I used to take for granted my observational, listening and communication skills, but now realise that these are all fundamental components of being a great coach.  I am passionate about coaching as it reflects who I am as a person.  One of my key roles is to ensure that your goals are congruent with your core values. I aim to identify those limiting beliefs that are holding you back and to draw out your strengths and skills in order to raise your self-belief; increasing your own self-awareness and giving you insights so that you can make better, more confident choices in your life.

It is my belief that people want to lead a life where their expectations, dreams and inner potential are fulfilled.  As a confidence and empowerment coach, I will help you to regain control of your life, and I will fully support you along your journey to unlocking and reaching your full potential in becoming the strong, independent, authentic, self-empowered person that you were created to be.
