Currently studying a Masters in Human Resource Management. I have begun to network in the wider HR, Learning and Development and Training community. Looking to network with like minded individuals irrespective of background.
Believe positive people make a difference.
I am 33 years old. I am really lucky to have a loving and supportive family.
I used to be a very active Passport holder within 4N, regularly visiting different groups across North Chesire and Greater Manchester. I was Marketing Assistant for the Macclesfield Group for a while. Unfortunately, my business at the time walktalktour.com was not financially viable.
In 2011 I, reluctantly, gave up my passion and found a new one: this time in the form of Teaching English as a foreign language. Having completed my CELTA Certificate I taught in Manchester for two and a bit years at a private language school. Then I fulfilled a lifelong ambition of living and working in a German speaking country when I moved to Düsseldorf. I worked as an English Language Trainer for a company called Linguarama; training, coaching and teaching groups of individuals from apprentices to board members in blue chip companies including MediaComm, Bayer and E.ON. To learn more about my experiences as an English Language Trainer see 'Listen, learn and move on' a post on my new blog The Eastern Wing. I returned to the UK in July 2014. I went back to work at the school where I worked before I moved to Germany.
This summer that I needed to try and secure a more stimulating and financially secure career. After much deliberation, exploring my various options, I decided to enroll on a Masters in Human Resource Management at Manchester Metropolitan University. Having stopped actively networking outside of teaching circles, I have started blogging andd tweeting once again.
I have really fond memories 4N. I met lots of great, positive, genuine and savvy people. If time allows I will try and get along to some meetings, though that will be tough as I have a busy academic schedule.
Happy networking and good luck.
As locals we had never really taken the time to view Manchester in the same way we would if we were visiting another great City. We downloaded the Walk Talk Tour and set off. The tour was really informative, full of interesting historical stories and facts and easy to follow. Well recommended!!
I signed up for a blogging training session with Phil and I am recommending it to others. He has given me lots of useful pointers for getting my blogs out there and read by businesses. If you want to get more out of blogging then ask Phil.
Phil did a great 4sight for us at Runcorn about blogging. His enthusiasm for sharing his excellent knowledge was inspriring and his delivery entertaining and charming. It would certainly make me want to use or recommend one of his Walk Talk Tours (and his blogging workshop!). Thanks Phil :)
